Mike attended the prestigious King’s College of the University of London, qualifying in dentistry in 1990 and medicine in 1997. He then spent three years at King’s College and St George’s Hospitals in London, and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, undertaking junior surgical posts in the fields of Oral Surgery and Restorative Dentistry. Following qualification as a doctor in 1997, he undertook junior medical and surgical jobs, followed by a Basic Surgical Training rotation at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, including posts in the Emergency Department, Orthopaedics, and General Surgery. Success followed in 2000 with the award of a Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

In 2001 Mike commenced Higher Surgical Training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, gaining experience in all fields of the specialty whilst rotating through units at Kent & Canterbury Hospital, Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, and Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead. This culminated in the award of Certificate of Completion of Training (Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery) and subsequent entry in the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register (OMFS) in February 2007.

Mike is interested in the complete range of oral and maxillofacial surgery, but his subspecialty interests include surgical dentistry and oral surgery, and the management of post-traumatic facial reconstruction and facial deformity. He also has extensive experience in the management of skin lesions of the head, neck, and face, and enjoys the aesthetic challenges such surgery commands. Mike has a commitment to the Continuing Medical Education of his practice and the teaching of junior surgical and paramedical staff. He has published widely in the medical and scientific literature and has presented and lectured nationally and internationally.

Mike lives with his family in Ardingly, West Sussex, and in his spare time enjoys hill walking and following his beloved Harlequins rugby team.
