So, a dental implant is a two-part piece used to replace a missing tooth. You have the titanium implant screw which we use that replaces the root, that's the part that goes under the gum. We can attach either a single crown or we can attach several teeth, which makes a bridge, or we can attach a whole row of teeth.
And that titanium is biocompatible, it's the same material that's used for knee replacements because we know how well the body accepts it. It's a material that fuses and bonds with your bone. For most people, they can be a fixed option which means you don't have to remove them at night.
We work hard to make this implant crown look and feel just like your tooth did before, and the dental implant isn't anything to be worried about. When we ask our patients if they're pleased about their treatment, they always say they're so glad they had it done, they just wish they'd had it done sooner. It's just a great way to replace a missing tooth.
