Process & Timing: Dental Implant Treatment

The process will begin with an assessment appointment to gather all the facts, what concerns the patient and how are we going to address those concerns. That will give us a good opportunity to look around the mouth and take any relevant X-ray examinations that are required. If a tooth must be removed, a temporary tooth is made and ready to fit at that appointment. So, there's no need to walk around with a gap at any stage.
And then a few months later, the implant can then be placed. That is then left in the jawbone for another couple of months, and once that's healed successfully, an impression can be taken and the crown fitted and a couple of weeks later, sometimes a crown can be attached to an implant placed into an extraction socket the same day.
So, it really depends on the treatment actually being prescribed for that individual. But on average it would be from start to finish, anything between 3 and five months.
