The time had come to sort it out once and for all for Mita
Mita had been having recurring pain with her broken down upper right molar tooth for a few months, before coming to see us. She had been told the tooth needed to have a root canal but the treatment was going to be difficult as the tooth had sclerosed canals. Mita really wanted to have treatment which could guarantee she was going to be pain free in the long term.
Assessment & treatment
When Mita had her assessment she was experiencing a lot of pain and swelling on the right hand side of her face, her assessment revealed she may have a possible crack in the tooth.
She was given the option to undergo a difficult root canal or have the tooth extracted and replaced with a single implant. Mita opted to replace her tooth with an implant.
Following the extraction which went ahead uneventfully, we placed a single implant into the site and allowed it to intergrate over eight weeks. We then started the process of making her permanent implant crown over a few appointments.
Mita now has a secure molar tooth which doesn’t cause her anymore pain, she can eat normally as before.
I was surprised as to how simple and pain free the proceedure was.
