The time had come to sort it out once and for all for Mita.
Mita had been having recurring pain with her broken down upper right molar tooth for a few months, before she came to see us. She had been told the tooth needed to have a root canal, but the treatment was going to be difficult as the tooth had sclerosed canals. Mita really wanted to have a treatment that could guarantee she was going to be pain-free in the long term.
Assessment & Treatment
When Mita came for her consultation she had been experiencing a lot of pain and swelling on the right hand side of her face, and her assessment revealed she may have a possible crack in the tooth.
She was given the option to undergo a difficult root canal, or have the tooth extracted and replaced with a single implant. Mita opted to replace her tooth with an implant.
Following the extraction, which went ahead uneventfully, we placed a single implant into the site and allowed it to integrate over a period of eight weeks. We then started the process of making her permanent implant crown over a few appointments.
Mita now has a secure molar tooth, which does not cause her pain anymore, and she can eat normally as before.
‘I was surprised as to how simple and pain-free the procedure was.’
