Eileen

Full Arch or Full Mouth Treatment

“I absolutely love my new teeth and they really have changed my life.”

That old sparkle returns.

After a detailed assessment, we offered Eileen the complete and painless solution of having a full set of upper teeth fixed on implants. She decided to proceed and we completed the operation in a single day. Now, with a new lease of life, Eileen cannot stop smiling.

  • Eileen had been suffering with a long history of dental problems. Although she kept her mouth very clean, with daily brushing and regular hygienist visits, she was one of the unfortunate people to be susceptible to periodontal (gum) disease. The effects of the disease caused many of her teeth to become loose and gave her a bad taste in her mouth. She was concerned about the appearance of her teeth and always had to speak with her hand in front of her mouth.

  • Eileen first came to see our specialist periodontist, Sarah Diederich, to see if periodontal treatment could help her gum disease. After careful assessment, Sarah recommended Eileen meet with one of our implant surgeons to see whether she could have a longer-lasting solution with implant treatment.

Guy Barwell, one of our implant surgeons, advised that with periodontal treatment we could save the teeth in the lower arch, but that the teeth in the upper arch were best removed and replaced with a full-arch dental implant bridge, once the infection that was present had cleared.

On the day of her surgery, we extracted all her remaining upper teeth and placed four implants. Our on-site laboratory constructed her a temporary bridge so she could leave the same day with new teeth. From this moment on, Eileen could not stop smiling. Over the following weeks, we reviewed Eileen during the healing phase before making her final permanent bridge.

  • Eileen now has a full set of upper teeth that are not loose or make her feel self-conscious when she speaks. The bad taste she had lived with for such a long time has now gone, and she is able to eat anything she likes. The most important thing is that she can now smile with confidence without having to cover her mouth with her hand.

Janet

Full Arch or Full Mouth Treatment

“People say… ‘I can’t believe your teeth, they look fabulous.’ I wish I’d had them longer”

  • Janet had lost a number of teeth in her upper jaw over a number of years. She went to see her dentist who gave her a denture to try, but she found this very uncomfortable to wear. She came to see if we could offer her a solution that would be fixed and comfortable.

  • After visiting us for a comprehensive assessment, we found Janet was missing most of her upper back teeth and her remaining upper front teeth would also eventually need to be replaced. She also had two molar teeth in the lower arch which would need to be replaced to improve her biting platform.

We took a 3D CT scan, which confirmed that Janet did have enough bone to have implants placed into her upper and lower jaw. She had the option to remove the remaining upper teeth and replace the whole arch with an implant supported bridge, or to have two smaller bridges and leave her remaining teeth for the time being. Janet opted to replace all her upper teeth.

Janet had her implant surgery under sedation which allowed her to be relaxed and completely comfortable. We removed the remaining upper teeth, placed the upper and lower implants and fitted a temporary upper bridge so Janet was never left without teeth during the healing phase. Once we were able to confirm her implants had successfully integrated with her bone then we began the process of making her final bridges. We worked closely with Janet and our on-site laboratory to get the look and feel of her new teeth perfect for her and give her the result she would be pleased with.

  • Janet now has a new set of upper teeth which has transformed her smile. She can now speak and eat without the discomfort she used to feel with her denture.

Mike

Multiple-Tooth Replacement

“An absolute transformation, it has changed my life, given back my dignity and self respect”

‘I would say to anyone currently plagued by the curse of a partial denture: “Go and get some implants, it will change your life and you will have them for life too!’

I have had my implants in place for five days now and I have completely forgotten about them. They are an integral part of my being, rather than the errant lump of plastic that used to flop around in my mouth preventing me from eating or talking intelligibly.’

  • Michael had been suffering with his teeth for a long time. Approximately eighteen months before coming to see us, many of his crowned teeth had become loose, due to periodontal disease, leading to three of his front teeth having to be extracted and replaced with a denture. Although the appearance of the denture was good, he disliked it very much as it was loose and he could not eat with it in. All he wanted now was a fixed solution for his denture so he could eat properly.

  • At the initial assessment phase, we noted that many of Michael’s remaining teeth were loose and most of the back teeth which he needed to be able to chew food properly were missing, due to the effects of periodontal disease. We offered him a few different options so he could eat without worrying about a loose denture and, with careful planning, he was able to decide on the best solution.

During the planning stages of Michael’s treatment, we determined there was enough bone to place seven implants without using any bone-grafting, thanks to the innovative techniques we have developed here at The Implant Centre.

During the healing phase, Michael wore a temporary denture, something he only had wear for a few weeks until he was ready to have nine implant crowns made to give him a secure biting platform. This process was carried out over a few weeks to bring back his smile and to have him eating whatever he wanted, something he had not been able to do in a long time.

  • With our innovative techniques, seven implants were placed, eliminating the need for bone grafting. Now, Michael enjoys the security of nine implant crowns, ensuring a secure biting platform and the freedom to savour his meals, a simple pleasure he had longed for.

Charlotte

Single Tooth Treatment

“knowing that I don’t need to worry about my teeth anymore is just amazing.”

A smile that makes it all worthwhile.

At 23, a simple trip shattered Charlotte’s confidence; happily we were able to help put it back together again. The sparkling smile tells its own remarkable story…

  • Charlotte had always been proud of her smile but, aged just 23, whilst on holiday with friends she slipped in the bathroom and fell straight onto her beautiful front teeth. Three of her four upper incisors were very badly damaged, one being knocked out completely. She was devastated.

Initially she was given a denture to replace the missing tooth, and her dentist did everything possible to patch up the broken ones. Over subsequent months though, her damaged teeth discoloured and her gums receded. She found the denture acutely embarrassing too, and simply stopped smiling. Fortunately, her best friend’s mother had received treatment at The Implant Centre and was sure we could help Charlotte.

  • Our thorough assessment included a CT scan, which showed exactly how much bone Charlotte had lost around these teeth as a result of her accident and the infections that followed: it was obvious that the treatment would be far from simple, but we reassured her that we’d be able to recreate her beautiful smile, and that we’d never leave her without teeth during the treatment.

Though it was a longer process than for most of our patients, Charlotte was able to see regular and steady progress as we repaired the jaw damage and placed her implants. When we fitted a temporary bridge to sculpt the gum into the contours we needed, Charlotte was thrilled to at last be able to throw away the hated denture!

  • With the considerable damage Charlotte had suffered to bone, teeth and gums, we all knew that this was going to be a challenging case and were as delighted as she was with the spectacular results.

When we fitted her final bridge and she saw it in the mirror for the first time, Charlotte’s confidence flooded back. She could be proud of her beautiful smile once again…

Gabby

Implant Retained Denture Treatment

“You won’t believe how it will change your life. It’s worth every single penny and more.”

Having lived with a loose lower denture for many years, Gabby came to us and sought out a more permanent and secure solution!

  • Gabby came to us after her daughter, who was already a patient of ours, recommended The Implant Centre. Gabby was missing all of her teeth had both a lower and upper denture; however, the lower denture was extremely loose and extremely uncomfortable.

While this was quite a complex case, Gabby had done her research and was confident that mini implants would be able to provide a more permanent solution by securing the lower denture.

  • Gabby came in for an initial assessment and we could see that the lower denture was extremely loose. We then took a CT scan to see if implant placement would be possible, and saw that there was enough bone available to place mini implants without disrupting the nerve. Gabby was aware of mini implants before she came and we agreed that mini implants would be the best option for her, as they allow the denture to sit on the gum instead of on a larger implant.

We then hollowed out Gabby’s previous denture and added in a soft inner lining, which helped to hold the denture in place. We saw Gabby several times in order to make sure that her denture was fully functional and secure yet comfortable.

  • Gabby was overjoyed with the result and she couldn’t believe that anybody would choose anything other than implant treatment! She could smile with confidence and chew without any worries as her lower denture was now securely in place and felt like a natural set of teeth.

Gabby loves our aftercare package and still visits regularly, so that together we can ensure her teeth are secure for many years to come.
